Having shorter days is not irregular. What would be considered irregular is if you cycled odd days in between.. Like never knowing when your period will come. Not everyone cycles every 28 days, but if you were to go 28 days, then skipped and went 15 days, or 35 days, etc.. That is irregular.
For me I had problems since I started at age 11. I would bleed sometimes for 10-15 days very heavy, then not have a period for a couple of months.. Once I bled for 26 days. I happen to have PCOS and so I am kind of an expert in this area.
I could never get pg either. I have been taking provera (progesterone) for a few years now and it makes me only spot for a couple of days, but I am regular, meaning I have my period the same time every month!
This last period was heavy and lasted 6 days, I haven't had that happen in a few years. But I am still regular. I had it on time. I take provera for 10 days each month and my period starts within a day or 2 after I am done taking them.
Now I think I am starting to go through menopause, I am 44 so that is kind of early, but I will be glad when I don't have to worry about it anymore.
When was the last time you had a pap test? You should do it every 1-2 years depending on your age and sexual activity. Have that done (I will bet your due) and then ask the GYN about your concerns. However, I do not believe you have anything to be concerned about..
Like I said, periods can vary month to month on how long they last. Especially if your taking the pill.
Don't let people here frighten you into thinking something is wrong. But it is always a good idea to talk things over with a GYN. I actually don't see a GYN, I see a nurse practitioner they are much more gentle and are trained like a dr...

don't worry its perfectly normal. it'll take a couple of years until your body will settle in a cycle. mine is like abnormal lol. mine normally go for 9 days. sometimes they go for 5 or 7. but mine comes really late. like 3 months late. or it sometimes comes too early. its normal. but im not sure about myself because i've had mine since i was 10 and im 16 now, so it shoudlve already be settled in a cycle but its not. i think its because my diet is not properly balanced

The best thing to do is make an appointment with a GYN that you trust. They are the only ones that can truly, and with all medical certainty, answer your question.

NO there isn't anything wrong with you......it is quite normal. I would be more worried if you were NOT getting your period. But if it still bothers you, see a doctor.....not a male one......half of those fools don't know what they are talking about.

Go see your GYN. It could be a number of things (e.g. PCOS). Birth control pills may make you more regular if it's just an imbalance in your hormones.

see your doctor, don't take advice of people here, you could be having a major problem and I would hate to hear of someone dying because they took the advice of someone on Yahoo!Answers.
