Ok inasmuch as i have a "bigger" title there's really a contradiction as there's no work im doing... there was a bit of an issue in the office & when HR found out i was being transferred without his knowledge he was very suspicious & demanded answers from my supervisor as to why the change & if im a non performer why am i being given more roles, why am i meting target, i actually got an increment 2 months back & a substantial bonus for surpassing target the most in the department. Its very fishy more like someone is out to sabotage & all that could be done was a different letter redrafted which wasn't contradictory explaining the move. Now there's no clear cut desription of what im to do & i wonder what criteria was used to move me into this new area & i feel at this point i can't go up just lower. Do i leave now or wait & see?

Don't rush too quickly into quitting your position just yet. I would let the HR representative investigate this issue further. You indicate you have more roles but less work and with that a larger title. I take that to mean that you are now in a position of more authority and there could be a requirement to delegate to others. It sounds like you are working up to your potential, a company doesn't give increases and bonuses without reason so perhaps you are to be letting others do some of the tasks you used to do? Get a copy of your job description, if you are in a position you must have a description of that position. If it is newly created, there should still be a guideline which relates to the duties of your position now. Check with HR. If he's bothered then it sounds like someone isn't playing within the rules.

Whatever the case, determine first whether or not you actually like your employment overall, despite this new situation. Is your employer fair, do you earn a good salary. Do you actually see yourself with this company 2, 4, 5 years from now and if so, what capacity would you most want to be in?

While you are considering the future, meet with the HR rep if you are able to and discuss the situation in detail. If he is bothered by this issue there is good reason. If you feel therre is something odd going on, there probably is. Follow your instincts and try to get to the root of the matter before you throw in the towel and move on.

If within the next few months you find out that someone has played unfair with you...try to ensure that the wrong is righted so that your work record is not blemished unfairly and there is no chance of a future employer being told by this one that you do not work up to your potential...or worse, they have no comment!

By leaving now, you are informing this employer that when things get dicy, you run. Don't let them win, try to find out why this has happened and whether it can be corrected to your satisfaction. If things end up in their favor rather than yours...then you can begin your plans to leave and in your resignation letter, you can stipulate your reasons. This provides a permanent record of your decision and reasons for it, on their company employee files which will show that you tried to correct a problem to the best of your ability using the correct procedures and speaking with the proper personnel to rectify things however the situation could not be corrected sufficiently to allow you to work up to and surpass your potential. Any inquiries about you from future employers should bring your letter to the front of things and a good recommendation should be forthcoming each and every time whenever your current employer is approached by a possible future one. If not you have grounds then to approach the Labor Board for further investigation.

If your investigation now however uncovers that there is unfair practice against you but you can't get answers or corrections , a Labor Board review may be one recourse to you but this is a very last resort and only if absolutely necessary. The employer can make things difficult for you when you leave, if they are put in a position of defending themselves and their staffs actions against you.

Always keep your relationship with this employer and its staff on an positive note if at all possible, thus outside intervention is absolutely last resort, can't repeat that enough. Any reaction from you that could be construed as a negative or difficult attitude, could reflect badly on your record. Never underestimate another employee who has an issue with you...and conduct your investigation diplomatically and with class :), going through all the right people to get to the heart of this matter.

Once you learn what's behind all this, then the desicion to stay or go will be clearer and years from now you won't be sitting there wishing you'd dealt with this differently. Do the best you can here and it will work out the way it should...things happen for a reason and perhaps you are the one meant to uncover a sneaky employee's actions before you move on.

Good luck with this, trust in yourself to handle this to the best of your ability and know that you can do what is best for you at this time and do it with class.

Those jobs that were slashed were mainly jobs that will be shipped overseas. They will also import modern day indentured servants from India with special visas to work in the computer fields. Illegal aliens atleast in my state have actually lowered wages. When I got out of high school people were paid above the minimum wage around 9 dollars normally. Then in 2002 illegals flooded the state, so next thing you know starting wage went from 9, to 8 dollars, then 7.50. Now it's 7.15 Not only that rent has skyrocketed because they rent every available room and crowd them with 10 other people

There is more to this than your telling-when they decided to move you, what was the reason they gave you. Was it more on a positive note, we are creating a new position for you doing such and such. Or on a negative note?

Either way, seems your unhappy now, and not something you want to invest in as a career for the rest of your life. Start sending some resumes out to companies you truly would like to work for, that you feel you could be with for years, and promotions.
