Women are generally nurturing. With babies and children the mother molds and shapes them, teaches them. this they learned from their mothers and saw it in action with other siblings. So when in a relationship with a guy, they have a tendency to overlook it because they think they can change him later. Sorry, this is a grown man, ain't gonna happen in the majority of cases.
Men don't change all that much, therefore they tend to think she won't change. When she does change it's a shock to him, but he hopes she will come back to her senses and be who she was when he met married her.
It's all based on hope that the other partner will be the person they seemed to be when they met/married. It takes a long time for most people to realize that most people change with time and that they either need to adjust to that change or let go. If the relationship is worth saving BOTH partners will work on it. If only one wants it to work, ain't gonna happen. One will always be the "loser". By that I mean their opinions, wishes, wants and needs will not be met and self-esteem, integrity and psychological health will be corrupted and damaged.

Because you don't love yourself. If you feel that you are not worth treating well then you don't stop others treating you badly. It becomes dependency not love, as you feel that even though they treat you badly they will change or that they are the only person who will ever love you, even it is 'in their own way'. Working on one's self esteem is the only way out, through your own interests and working on who 'you' are as opposed to your identity as part of a couple, but unfortunately some people in really abusive relationships find this almost impossible. You will feel that you should be with the person unless you can come to realise that you deserve to be treated in a nicer way.

To quote William Shakespeare:
"The course of true love never did run smooth"
"Reason and love keep little company these days"
To quote Ulysses Everett McGill from Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
"It's a fool who seeks for logic in the chambers of the human heart"
Who knows.

Because sometimes you can't help loving someone. Life would be so much easier of we could choose who we love. Then we wouldn't fall in love with the losers and only fall in love with the winners.

because some one, especially Jesus, loves me though I am not a nice person. That's why I love and want to a person regardless of what s/he is.

Because he's not a nice person. I loved him not because of his good points. I loved him because of his faults and flaws. That's what makes him imperfectly perfect.

its because of love. you accept dat person perfectly sepite her imperfections. its funny how we set qualifications for the one we'll love but for all we know, in the end, the one we love will always become an exepmtion.
