well an atom is about 1 angstrom.
about 10 atoms lined up is a nano meter
1000 nanometers make a micron
so one micron is about 10,000 atoms long.
(so a 1 mircon cube consists of about 1,000,000,000,000 atoms thats one trillion atoms!!!!!!)
in reality it is a bit less, atoms really range from .7 to 5 angstroms in diameter

That means "micrometer", and it's really not very small compared to really tiny things like molecules and atoms. It's a millionth of a meter.
