Hopefully, prisons will be used for "violent criminals" only. Other criminals should do community service work..like picking up trash etc.

Well let's see why are the prisons overcrowded, because we have to many unconstituional laws for one, and the American people are liveing underthe ten planks of the communist manifesto for another, and the American people are very ignorant when it comes toknowing thier rights, especially thier responseability's when serving on a jury duty, sthey should and have the power (veto-power) to nullify and judge the law first, and not let the corrupt judge and or prosecution intimidate them and contol tem in any way what so ever! Thier duty is to claim thier sovereignty, and inforce our BILL OF RIGHTS! The same apply's to the Grand Jury instead of giving the government (corrupt-govt,) a green light what slome call a rubber stamp, they shoud be defending our right's and or the constitution and we the peoples soveiegnty inwhich we are above them in power!! This is the problem Ignorance! And don't worry the prisons will not get to full for the government(s) have been known to mass murder people, and our governmet has been killing people for years, they will kill some people and make room.

It's not crime that is rising, but things defined as crimes. Over half the prison population is there for drugs. Change the drug laws and you'd reduce the prison population by half. On the other hand, America is a prison and Americans all prisioners, so it doesn't matter what happens in 50 years.
