Hello, cabryn, I have often wondered that myself and I'm glad somebody got up off there but and said something about it. I don't believe in blacks marrying whites. But, I was raised with that. But as far as being friends with a black person, I have many black friends so, that doesn't bother me at all. If one of my kids wanted to marry a black person I say, "Heck, it's a free country so use your privileges." Now, I'm not saying I wouldn't be disappointed for a little while but as long as they were happy then I would be happy. There's not a law against gay people marrying each other (which I think there should be) so whats wrong with this, well, a lot of things but like I said, if my child is old enough to marry, then that's their decision whether or not they want to marry a Mexican an Asian or a African American. I hope this has helped you some, I know I have been wanting to discuss this with someone for a long time. If you ever want to talk about it my email address is emhahn87@yahoo.com. And, basically, my opinion goes for everyone in the US. Some people might not care but others go back to the Bible times where you could be dambed to hell and cast out of your home etc. but, like I said if it makes the kid happy, give him a brownie.

I think there is a second thing that enters the picture.
There are still a lot of people that frown on a mixed marriage. A parent may have absolutely no bias towards another race but may be hesitant to see a child enter into a mixed marriage. A marriage is difficult enough without (be they wrong) outside influences creating further difficulties.
That said, I know a couple that did it & the attacks on them made their marriage even stronger. Unfortionately, not all have the strength to endure.

I don't have that problem. As long as my child is happy and is being treated right (that's for all colors) I don't care what color a person is.
