Graphical User Interface. It means pointing and clicking rather than typing in commands as was used prior to Windows 98 ( I think - it might have been 95). Anyway, it' what you use the mouse for most of the time.

GUI stands for Graphic user interface. In this You can have your graphics like window , games, movies etc.
Other is text mode i.e in which command works only.
Like Windows are GUI.
Linux is both.

Almost all computer-systems are using GUI. It is what you see instead of just lines of text. MS-DOS-prompting (even if it is in XP and therefore really GUI) is the closest you can get to non-GUI these days.

GUI means graphical user interface. there are DOS based programs and WINDOWS based programs. WINDOWS based programs are GUI. that means we can see every thing as natural( 3 dimentional ) in computer screen. We see live pictures, videos and other things. In non-GUI softwares you cannot see all these things.
