I own my own crappy pc store. If you are going to sell old/refurbished computers don't make that your primary source of income. Focus on service first, computer new and old are always going to have problems.
The problem with older computers is when something goes wrong with one of the parts it might be difficult to find a cost effective replacement part.
Where I live the majority of the population can't afford new computers so they by quality pre-owned computers. The major factor for most people is PRICE. I seldom get any clients who wants top of the range computers, most want just enough to type, look at pictures and use the internet If you can get some older games working on the PC it's a good start to draw them in. Once they experience gaming on any pc htey are likely to love and hate their consoles at the same time. Most peope i know once they start gaming on an old computer they ussualy save to buy a better entry level to mid range gaming pc so they can play some of the newer games.
If you can sell upgrades with insentives to trade in old hardware so you can gain acces to older hardware for a fraction of the price.
To actually start the business you are going to have to do some research ( ia ma guessing your'e in India, sorry if i am wrong).You need to find out what people can afford in the geographical areas you wish to concentrate on, is there competition in the area? can you arrange finance for your clients through the bank? where can you get hardware and software(suppliers) ? are the suppliers reliable? what will the transport cost for parts from my supplier per kilogram? are there discounts for bulk buying? will the prices rise or fall? goverment insentives? tax breaks> how do can you register your business? what kind of business do the suppliers require you to be(most supplier don't like sole propritors, they prefer close corperations(CC is the best for small business, well in South Africa anyway) or public/private companies? Book keeping requirements?
Research, my friend there is no point in starting a business if there is no market, or if the market is too competitive(that is my problem). If there is very little competition and there is a market you need to distinguish yourself rom the others. Service excellence and honesty at unbeatable prices will be a slow way to gain market share, but it works. If you are not technically minded you can always find out what it would cost to pay some one who is to help you.
Once you have done the reasearch you can formulate a plan, and implement it.
