It all depends on your pain thresh hold !- for me it doesn't hurt but can be uncomfortable on the bikini line - it is said to be more uncomfortable just before or during a period.
I am coming up to 60 and have had my legs waxed for about 20 years now - it is such a great feeling after a wax, its like sleeping in silk sheets!
Believe me! you will regret it if you shave - if you have a man and have felt the morning stubble after a 24 hour gap between shaves, that is what your legs will be like - the more you shave the more you have to in time! Waxing stopped all that for me.
Its worth a bit of discomfort and it gets easier - PROMISE!

OUCH!!!!!! Yowser, that's hurts!
I absolutely HATE waxing my legs, and then the hair grows back in under the skin, so I have to dig it out with a needle.
I believe that it's best to leave pain for childbirth...
I'd user a razor, depilatory cream, or laser treatments instead of waxing.

Doesn't hurt me, but I have a high pain threshold. A good waxer will always place their hand firmly on the waxed area immediately after the rip. Also don't wax just before your period, your skin is more sensitive then. And if you're a total wuss, take a Nurophen an hour before hand.

The legs don't hurt so much but I go to a good beautician. Beware around the ankle bones and the back of the knees though - makes you jump a bit. Also find it's hurts more if you go the week before period. If you're going higher - the bikini line hurts like hell! Plus you need to make sure you exfoliate and moisturise regularly to help prevent ingrowing hairs as they come back.

Yes, it hurts. During the waxing procedure, you are not only removing unwanted hair but also the first layer of skin. I am a hairdresser and my husband once asked me to wax his back (he has very fine and not obnoxious hair) because we were going to the tropics for vacation. Let's just put it this way: he won't ever have this procedure done again!

I haven't had my legs waxed, but I get my eyebrows done. It does hurt, but it is over fast. Be a man and follow through with the bet. Never know, you might get laid out of the deal. ;)

if you go to a good esthetician, it isn't that bad. take ibuprofen before you go in and when she pulls the wax strip off, make sure she puts her hand down on the skin to hold the nerve you have just disturbed down and it won't hurt so bad, honest....this is the most important thing when you wax someone..it takes the sting out...
