Can anybody tell me what a 20 foot container (coming from Europe) would cost to transport from east coast to the west coast (north of LA)? Can you also give me reference (company, website calculator, or similar)?

I haven't found less than truckload rates or railroad rates

well i am not real sure about the cost but i did drive for a company called Arrow Trucking and we hauled containers it would cost you about 3 to 4 dollars a mile or maybe less if they can get other stuff on the trailer
