whats with civic drivers?

Question

Whats with civic drivers thinking they drive a porsche because they intake and exhaust and some big rims? I drive a 2003 Ford Lightning with 12psi of boost, chipped, bassani exhaust and it makes about 440hp. I was coming back from work today when i guy in his 20's with a civic starts pacing me on the highway. I gave it a bit of gas so he could hear it wind up a bit and give him a clue but he seriously wanted to race. its not even worth the gas. And its not only civics but neons, preludes, integras, and so on. I know my trucks not the fastest thing out there but i feel like a boxer knocking out a retarded kid with these tuner cars. Anyone else have these honda cars where they live?

did the questions about the baby even seem legit 'ferret'? i dont have a baby you homo or a T/A

Yeah they are idiots, so are people that race out trucks, trucks are for hauling stuff, leave the racing to cars

the retards that say you cant race a truck are stupid asses. the probably drive a POS or don't know what a ford lightning is. I'm a chevy guy but i still wouldnt f*ck with a lightning. How can you talk **** about a truck that runs 13s stock? And with bolt ons and slicks 12s easy. the lightning wasnt built to haul much in the bed, just ***. The syclone that came out in 1991 could run similar times with a turbo v6 and awd STOCK. The better Q is, who races a front drive econo box?

Ok for the idiot in the truck go home you cant pull a moped in a truck. I have v8s and 4 cyl cars. To tell you the truth I just like speed from my bike to my boat and all my cars. I also have a lightning man they are fun arent they. I have a 68 camero ss that is factory i dont race it only for my sunday drives. I have an nsx 94 model it will pull pretty hard. its a top end car but does ok out of the hole. my favorite car to drive is a little 94 hatch i have its got a gsr motor and i built the motor and turboed it. the hatches only way like 5 pounds so it will fly. it will pull a vette and has. i drive it to work and it really has surprised me. im a v8 man and stand behind them but it will stay with about every car i have. except my drag car but thats different. i used to say the same things about hondas but this little car surprised the hell out of me. it pulls z06s by 5 cars. its almost embarasing to me how good it does. my son got me into the honda stuff trying to help him but im glad he did. some of the loud mufflers are awful so we did a cutout its silent then you open the cutout and it shoots flames. there is no replaceing my v8s but hondas are pretty fast in there own sense if they are built correctly.

I know what you're talking about, these kids with their 4 bangers and their "short ram" intakes, APC filters, and coffee can exhaust believe their cars will run 12's when in fact most don't even run 15's- 99.9% of them are pathetic! I've ran several in my 02 Silverado (when it still had the 4.8L [bolt-ons, nitrous]) and have never lost- their local hero with a NSX wouldn't run me (and it's a legit car) after seeing his ricer following fall to a pickup truck. I only sprayed one of the cars, a turbo DSM Talon running 20lbs boost (he also thought he could beat a stock C5 Vette (automatic) and he was WRONG!).

well being a 21 year old male, i can say it's in the blood. I don't drive a civic; i have a 2004 impreza wrx wagon (yea, it's a wagon, but it's quick). I love to modify my car.

It has to be something about the thrill of either going fast with someone else or watching someone go fast, its not about the actual WINNING, although that is great, too.

For example, a guy in a 2.5 RS pulled up to me the other day, edging me on by throttling the car, so I looked at them, shifted into 3rd and stepped on it...they did too, but couldn't keep up with the turbocharged 2.0 :-) . anyway, after the "race" they put their hands up and shouted in excitement...who cares if they lost, they just got to see a wrx full throttle on the highway at 100 mph!

I know a few of those guys. They seem to forget that trucks like yours are in a different class. I'm sure that there are a few Civics that could beat your truck...... but not without BIG $$$ invested, and most of those guys don't race like that. It's not going to go away, so try and ignore it.....?

I have one CiviC crazy driver at home:)
My hubby drives CiviC at work(courier ) that car has manual transmission so he is ready to rase everything that moving on the road even old lady with the walker on the sidewalk:)
So I guess there is something about CiviC.
In my opinion it's not what you driving it's more about if you have skills.

it may be hondas' racing pedigree makes them think that their 'tricked out' car can outrun a serious piece of machinery. We have the same problem with BMW drivers in the uk, they take the slogan- the ultimate driving machine- a bit too seriously
