is there anything i can do will have 2 children with me and my parents as we won't be able to leave the airport. Whats O'hare airport like

Airports are airports: Boring and crowded with tired, cranky people. Consider grabbing a taxi, zoom downtown and see a few of the sights. Visit the Sears Tower, see the lakefront, Millenium Park is breathtaking.

Three hours is NOT enough time. You'll be lucky to just get to the city and back in a cab in less than three hours (as suggested by 'Schmod, there's no "zooming" downtown, unless it's 2am Tuesday morning!). Blue line might give you about half an hour downtown. They have plenty to do AT the airport, and it's a rather large airport. Take advantage of some of the dining there too. Eat some CHICAGO pizza, not pizza from a chain!

I agree with those who said that three hours is not enough time to leave the airport especially if you have kids with you. By the time you deplane and then have to be at your next gate you'll have less than three hours to kill. It's a huge airport, as others have stated, so you'll take a while to find your next gate. There are places to eat and you can certainly walk around. You could go from Terminal B to Terminal C just b/c it's a fun colorful corridor, that should kill some time.

Just hope your plane isn't late and your connecting gate isn't at the other end of the airport. Whenever I leave O'hare my plane is always the last gate in the airport. Have fun...

Ohare is a nice airport, there are lots of gift shops and restauraunts you can go to! Although personally whenever I have stopovers anywhere I usually just read a book. And it's always nice to get some Starbucks too!

Thats not enough time since the airport is not really within the city, but Ohare is one of the largest airports in the world. They have play areas for the kids and restaurants on top of restaurants there. Just roam around, Ohare is like its own city!

Look at the aeroplanes. Have a drink of orange juice. Look at the Pilots and the Stewardesses. Ignore the sleeping-people. Walk around without slipping. Go for a wee.

Hop on the El (elevated train) and go to the West Side, get out and scream "We are tourists looking for fun!"

to be honest three hours will go very quickly by the time you have done passport control and been to the toilets ,go grab something to eat ,,you will find you only have an hour to kill and if you take something for the little ones to do puzzle books ect this time will fly by..
