Well u can get a Geforce 5200FX 128MB or 256MB to get very gud performance. Check out nvidia website for more details

if you are using AGP then go for Nvidia Geforce 6600 or 6200(if you want it real cheap).
if you are going for 6200 then get the 128 bit version. But the 64bit version works fine.( if you get NV43-V then you can even unlock hidden pixel pipelines and turn the 6200 in to a 6600).
But my best suggestion would be a ATi 9550 (256 MB) from Saphire. Its really cheap as well.
(if you are thinking of shader 2.0 on ATi, and the shader 3.0 on the 6600 , then know that shader 2.0 or 3.0 there is no visual difference, only a bit or tiny performance increase in shader 3.0)

If the right deals pop up, go for Ge-Force 6600 GT.
