I got an answer saying it should be "I work twice as hard"...but that is not my point...in fact, the work im describing isn't hard...what i am trying to convey is that i work twice the amount of work...so is it okay to use... "I work twice as much"...much is defined as a large amount....so when i say "I work twice as much" i am saying "I work twice the amount of work"...So, is "I work twice as much" grammatically wrong?

I don't know if it's wrong, but I don't like the use of "twice as much" adverbially. I would use it as an adjective, as in "I do twice as much work".

By saying the work isn't hard, I'm assuming you mean difficult, but this isn't the only meaning of the word hard. Hard can also refer to an expenditure of energy or effort, which it does in this case. If you are producing a two-fold result, then you're working twice as hard even though it's not hard work.

I think when u are comparing ur work with ur colleague u can use "Twice as much as he does.." when u are saying only about urself then "Im doing double the work im supposed to do..."

Do not be deterred by all the answers except the one preceding mine: your sentence is perfectly all right in a proper context. If it is a reaction to let's say a reproach, it is quite appropriate.

You must add "you do" in order for it to be grammatically correct. (English is a stupid language built on models, but those are the rules in Wren and martin)

"twice as much" requires you follow with "as..." It's a comparison and you need to show the alternative.
