it's absolutely ridiculous, Yahoo Answers wouldn't exist if nobody was asking questions. so instead of taking away 5 points, they should be giving 5 points.

Well, it depends what is more important to you. The points, or an answer to a burning question.
Quite honestly, what are the points good for? They don't make you rich or anything that matters. But then again, I haven't been able to come up with a question that I would want to ask a bunch of strangers, either -- no offense to anyone.
I come on here to share my opinion on things and to possiply help, if I can.

I've kind of been wondering the same thing. Of course, I think if I was going to ask one- I'd find a better one to spend the points on. I suppose it also depends on what you're going to do with the points you have.

Nope, think about trading 5 points for knowledge. What a deal. Besides, if you feel that you can take something home by asking the question, it isn't stupid.

Depends. I know some people who'd lose anything just to get attention. Getting rolled eyeballs for asking questions? No problem. Even dignity to them is just small change.

That all depends on how bad you want an answer to your question! Before you post one, ask yourself whether or not it is worh asking it. Besides, it's easy to regain the points by answering the silly questions that you have to wonder why they even bothered to ask.

Not if the question is intelligent. There are so many stupid and obscene questions on this site that it makes me wonder if these people have any brains at all.
