I don't want my kids going to their dad's this weekend, because their stepsisters have a never ending lice problem. They're supposed to go this Friday, and I don't want this to be WWIII. My ex is a control freak, and have a fit in front of the kids if I try to keep them here with me. How should I handle this without a scene in front of the kids? (My kids have been coming back with lice every time for months, I'm sick of it.)

If your ex is a control freak, why can't he control his lice problem??? You have every right to keep the kids away!!! Tell the court!! Geez!!! Control freak, temper AND lice....Thank god you got rid of this one.

lice is a hard thing to get rid of, you get your child clean and they go back to school for example, the problem won't go away til THEY do a clean sweep of their home. Just call your ex and talk calmly and tell him that they come home with head lice. If he says it's not coming from his home, take your kids to the doctor, have him check out their heads (health units are good places too) then have it documented, and when they get back if they have it, then have the doctor call him. That way there is no war, and your kids are safe, too much of the chemicals will cause your kids to loose hair. My daughter and my neighbors daughter kept getting it, we had to end of going to the school board to have the entire school closed and cleaned. But it worked, they never came home with it again.

If you want lie: Say something like the kids are running a fever, you think they are coming down with a summer cold. You want to keep them home and have them on medicine.

tell him the situation nicely and just say nicely hey the kids keep coming back with lice and its starting to bother me i just want to know if you know where it could be coming from and what we can do as their parents to watch out and make sure they dont keep having lice.

I bet they'll back you up. Legally you are watching out for your kids and he's negligent to all of them.
