If so, interested to know what you thought... I loved it. Not up there with Partridge, yet, but great to see a character who isn't as useless as Partridge!

Yes- it was quite good, think it will improve as the character and plot develops. I'll be keeping an eye on it. Occasionally a bit of Partridge poked through, but I feel this is going to be quite a strong character.

I never liked Alan Partridge, but that is the only one of his characters I don't like. I think the first episode of Saxondale had its moments, but I'll reserve judgement until I've seen some more episodes.

Some moments of brilliance as per Coogan usual! Made me cringe, which is always a good sign. Looking forward to episode 2! And loved it when he shot the animal rights bloke!

I wasn't too impressed, but it was only the first episode and it may improve.I'm gonna see a few more before I decide.

He seems quite a funny character and as you say he isn't quite as cringe-worthy as Partridge. Magz seems quite good too.

Not great - yet. But had its moments. particularly liked it when he shot the animal rights protester in self defence.
