need help with ipod?

hi i have a 30g video ipod and was told your video had to be a certain format to work does anybody know what format i need i have tried mpeg and it doesnt work

try "dat" and "avi"

MPEG4, failing that contact the manufacturer and complain, bitterly, about the crock of sh*te you have just been sold.

it doesnt always work though like sometimes you wont get the sound. its pretty lame.
