How poor was that game? 1st Owen was off and then it just got even worse. Yey we scored 2 but we might aswell of let Swedens 2 in.

Who agrees?

Nice flowin game end 2 end action. the 1st half belonged 2 england it started abit rovky with Owen hurting himself (that looked like it really hurt), but after that it was all smooth sailing for joe cole, however the goals that sweden scored were cheap and england lost concentration.

Owens early injury completely screwed the tactics for about ten minutes as the team struggled to change the game plan back to one which accomodated Crouch. After that however I thought the rest of the first half was ok with England showing some of the potential that we have been waiting for.

As always however I dreaded half time because in this competition (1998, 2002, etc) the team which comes out after the break must be full of "celebrity look alikes", because they look the same but play like they have never seen a football in their lives.

Tired (isn't this what they do for a living?), panicy, un-coordinated, lacking enthusiasm or cohesion.

I was amazed by the lack of movement off the ball or creation of space when we had possesion.

Joe Cole was brilliant and Rooney ran his heart out and is getting better and better. We just need the rest of the pampered pooches to start dreaming of England rather than Gucci.

this could be an truly thrilling game and predicting the score isn't so user-friendly. interior the previous two decades England has under no circumstances won a game against Sweden. Of the ten video games that the two communities have performed Sweden has won 4 and drawn six. England is yet to win against Sweden, even yet it basically isn't this time. it is going to likely be a good contest. even however England will ought to yield and the main suitable score would be: Sweden 2: a million England.

English will fall to the first decent team. Sven hasn't got a clue about tactics. Why is walcott there? Why does Carrick not get a game over Hargreaves? What has happened to Robinson? Just who would be playing up front in the next game given Owen's injury if the "rested" Crouch would have got a second yellow next game?

The game wasn't brilliant but then again none of them have yet!

The injury to Michael Owen looked bad..on slow motion replay you could see the movement in his knee-cap..i wuldnt be surprised if he's damaged his cartilidge..i dont think he'll be taking any further part in the world cup.

Steven Gerrard is our ultimate player for England and has scored 24 goals this season for his club so why not if push comes to shove stick him up front to replace Owen..As for the back line i think we are ok until Sol Campbell comes on..Rio & J.Terry look solid.

in the world cup so far england has done well in all three first halfs but in the secound halfs it seems we lose tempo and give a way possion and start to lose control of the game esspialy with sweden letting them score 2 poor
goals

yeah i agree. we didn't defend very well. i thought the first half eng playd quite well. i really think that eng have the players to win the world cup, but i just dont think they are playing a right formation. i dont think hargreaves is good enough to play for eng, he played ok yesterday but i think aginst someone like brazil, argentina or any of the bigger teams he will get found out. i think lampard isn't having a great wcup. although he is doing well to get into those good postions i just feel he looking a bit tired after his long season with chelsea. as eng fans we have 1 thing to look foward to and that is to see theo walcott come on and do something special.and if he does how amazing would that be ?

Don't think Owen made much contribution when he did play. Better off learning to cope without him anyway. Pity Walcot didn't get a half hour at the end.

The match was not bed, we saw 4 goals and the first one was one of the best goals scored on this world cup.

Actually I think the match was good, very exciting end-to-end stuff, obviously the England performance wasn't that great but hey, we avoid Germany and hopefully we will peak in the final
