Cartoons like Dora the Exporer should only be viewed by childern because it lowers an adults I.Q. Wait, in that case, kids shouldn't watch that stuff, either. There are many cartoons that are meant for adults only, usually because of the content, while young adult cartoons, such as Justice League, Batman, 6teen or the Simpsons may be enjoyed by any number of age groups.

Heck no! I've even watched episodes of sesame street from when I was little and there were things in there that I never thought woulda been funny or even understood when I was a kid that's just one of many take Family Guy for example or Futurama those I really don't know if I'd let my kids watch. I'd actually like to see "Over the Hedge" and "Cars" its a kids movie but they look like they would be entertaining. Movie makers are starting now to make kids movies that parents can actually tolerate watching 300 times and still find entertaining.

No, you could check out adult swim on cartoon network. They play episodes of family guy and futurama. Even some of the other cartoons for kids have adult references in them. Finally cartoons are just funny. I sit down and watch Tom and Jerry and SpongeBob with my kids all the time.

Of course not. You can watch pretty much whatever you want. Of course, there are some cartoons marketed to and targeted only towards kids, but that doesn't make them any less enjoyed or watched by some adults. Then, of course, there are adult-oriented cartoons.

Absoluely not. If you check out an old warner Bros cartoon, something like Bunnie Hugged, they are full of double entendres and overt references to homosexuality. Most adults get it. The kids don't but still find it funny.

No, all of the most successful animated shows (Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, South Park) are aimed at adults. There is also something called hentai, but the less said about that the better.

You obviously have not watched anime or South Park. Watch them and you will say that most cartoons are for adults.
