As sad as this sounds, it would really depend on the situation.

If it was a kid or an old lady or someone I knew, then sure, I would do whatever I can.

If it's midnight and I'm walking around alone in a rough part of town and I see a 6'10'' 250 lb. drunk guy covered in tattoos passed out on the ground I wouldn't even get near him. I'd just call the police on my cell and report what I saw but not after walking a block or so away first.

It would take a very mean person to ignore someone like that.
I have heard that some thieves use this technique to lure victims, so I would be wary.
But how could you sleep at night knowing that someone may have been genuinly been seriously hurt or ill, and you did nothing about it.
If it was you, you would want someone to stop and help....right ?

Stop and help of course, I live in a nice town though so I could understand other peoples reluctance to get involved

I would defo help.... or if they looked too dodgy i would call an ambulance at least...It is sad that society is too busty or scared to help people these days....Like the 8 year lod girl that got run over in a hit and run and the cctv showed cars driving round her!!! It is discusting.

I would stop and help like any decent person would, but at the same time take care to whether it is genuine or not..

I'd ask if they were OK, and if they didn't respond I'd get my mobby out and phone the Gardai to tell them there's an unconsious person laying where ever and wait till they got there.

I would stop to help, but I would probably try to get some other people involved also just for my safety.

I think that it is built into my nature to help people. I defintely would, even if the person was dirty or smelly or drunk. I would hope that most people would, but i hope that their conscience would eat away at their souls if they didn't.
