I keep failing to establish a remote desktop connection. Is there anything I should do about establishing it (such as some permission or logon settings, passwords, etc.)?

Ok so I just read your last post and responded and now I see you posted this as well. Even if the other computer did have remote desktop enabled, you are going to need to have a username and password to access the system. To turn on remote desktop, do the following. 1. Right Click on My Computer 2. Click on properties 3. go to the remote tab 4. under Remote Desktop, make sure the box labeled "Allow users to connect remotely to this computer" is checked. If you do not have a user account, you will need to create one and give the account remote logon access. I will refer back to your other question and my answer, buy a firewall and be done with your issues.

make sure the option for remote desktop conenctions is checked on the remote computer for you to access it.

you can add anyone to remotely connect to the desktop. the only criteria is that the suer account should have a password, blank password will not gain entry to the remote system with remote desktop on.

Cheers !!!!
