I absoluetly love to write books! And I must admit that, for the most part, I'm not to bad of a writer. The thing is, lately it seems I can't get excell the point I'm at. I don't know, it's like I'm stuck in a rut where I just can't find words, or inspiration. I'm only 13 years old, so I'm wondering if perhaps it's just something I will grow out of or not...

I don't know, it's like I'm stuck in a rut where I just can't find words, or inspiration. I usually start a story, and stop after a couple pages. If you love to write, there will always be a yearning within you to do it; it will drive you to write, so little hangups like these will not endure for long. I'm quite positive that even the best of writers go through this, so be patient. You could read things or visit people or places that inspire you, so give yourself food for creativity, but don't push so hard that you miss the creative ideas that you do get. Be open to inspiration at all times -- it will come when it wants to, so be ready to seize it.

A good writer brings a unique perspective to common situations and looks at life in an unusual way, giving insight to the reader while entertaining them. Life's experiences are the best fuel for building your fire. It isn't just all mechanical; people are what writing is all about.

Have a few true friends. Experience life. Do well in school. Don't watch garbage on TV. Try to see things from someone else's viewpoint. Find something that you really care about.

Write about characters like a weekend binger who has lots of potential or someone who believes they're a genius but really doesn't know sh*t, or someone who's always failing because they're in the wrong career. Maybe they chose that career because they're trying to fulfill their parents' desires instead of their own and they'd feel guilty if they did what they really wanted to do. They go to work one day and threaten everyone with a gun. Stuff like that.

Use your imagination. Write from your senses. Don't say "It was a nice day". Say, "The sun had been out all day, there wasn't a cloud anywhere and the sky went on forever." Don't say. "They were a great band." Say, "The band really rocked, the singer was a skinny kid with no hair and a tattooed skull who sounded like he'd just drank iodine and the lead guitar's fingers were on fire."

Good luck!

I'm so pleased that you have found something so wonderful to work with. I know a few writers, and a couple of aspiring writers, and it seems to be such a wonderful outlet for them!

I personally do not write, for I don't have the temperament for it... I'm far too judgemental about what I write.. but I have a bit of knowledge through friends about writers block.

Sometimes, they just take a break from things.. move onto another thing to write, play some games, or just take a vacation.. inspiration is found in strange places.

Others use an objective person to give them input into their writing patterns, and to see if there is something they can improve on... something which will help the ball rolling.

I strongly believe those who have the gift of writing must go through times of struggle... because it is such an amazing gift, who could continue perfection for such a long time without breaking down? It seems to be a way of letting a person know they need a break, or to change their focus for a short amount of time.

I truly envy you.. and wish you the absolute best in your writing endeavors! I hope you will stick with your dreams... There is nothing more wonderful than a good book. :)

It has nothing to do with growth. It's called 'writers block'. 'Writers block' comes when you'll be rolling along writing a book or literature, then, from out of nowhere, BAM! you run out of ideas and inspiration. I've learned the best way to combat this 'block' is to stop whatever project you're working on; go and hangout with a family member, play with a pet, phone a friend, etc. etc. -basically get back to experiencing life. It's life that gave you your inspiration to do what you're doing - so you have to give some of your time back to life. It's a fair exchange, as when you're enjoying it, and it will give you more inspiration at unexpected times when you're not looking for inspiration. Don't force it; inspiration comes when it's ready. - live peacefully.

I strongly suggest you immediately let you parents know that you are posting on this site or ANY site at 13 years.

Please inform them fully and completely about your activities nomatter how embarassing.

You sound wonderful but absolutely should not be on the net alone at your age and experience level. I can help you here but it just aint possible to protect an e-chick at 13.

Please withdraw slightly for your own good for several years.

You will be a fabulously talented writer if the conditions are right. That is up to you.

Do any people tell you negative things or falsely positive things?

Please only partake in this group as your parents see fit.

The inspriation should come from something deep within you. look inside you may be you will find an old emotion, or an old feeling or a relationship long forgotten that could be penned down in a few words...if not look out side take a day off and look at the various creations of nature the blue sky the birds, the winds blowing carelessly...thres so much in nature to inspire all of. otherwise, listen to music some soothing melodies may stir your mind to think creatively. if all these dont work, just write to me..

You started with the word Inspiration. You feel you need some starting place for the the thoughts train to go running:

1-You're still 13.Remember what used to make you write and write.Try to regenerate the atmosphere you used to be living in.Maybe it was the relaxed tranquil environment you used to write in that used to make your experience comfortable.Or was it your family members or friends' motivation which was pushing you to be productive and write interesting things?Again it maybe things you used to feel that used to energize you into writing.
2-Always try reading.Readng anything , everything makes you think and makes you feel packed with thoughts and ideas that you need to throw out into the pen and paper.Reading stories when you were younger used to power your imagination.Try reading more.It will definitely help.
3-You're still 13.At this age, parents or teachers may play some major roles in stimulating you to do more.Try to spend as much time as possible with these people that did make you more interested in writing.
4-Again, Relax:relaxation helps pull off all the pressure and help you start writing.
5-It might work or might not.Use the computer for typing instead of writing your stuff on a paper. It might help you!Try it!(or vise versa!)
6-Don't forget to have fun and make your writing more interesting!
