Ummmm I'm American, and first to answer the person before me - I wouldn't say that we have a domination in everything, so it's not ours to lose: Have you been watching the world cup?
As for tennis, I honestly wouldn't say that we are or have been dominating in tennis either. There have been some great players from the US, but there are many more from all over the world. So, I don't think that we are LOSING our domination in tennis, I don't think we ever had it to begin with. Sometimes things may seem that way because the media focuses on who they think the world wants to see, but that doesn't make it reality.

Absolutely. On the men's side Sampras and Agassi were incredible now that one's out and the other is in his last Wimboleton currently the young guns need to pick up the slack. Roddick is good but he can not compete with Federer and Nadal. There is still hope for Blake but I dont think he'll ever be any good truly. Dent is ok- he can't compete at the top but he's a solid striker. On the women's side with the Williams sisters out and moving on to Hollywood (good riddences) American tennis is struggling. However compared to Canada you guys are doing great. We only seem to be able to host good players who then leave such as Pierce and Rudeski or doubles players who are incredible but not seen on tv because they are doubles (GO NESTOR)

It's hard to follow the sampras, agassi, courier, and chang era and I don't think there will be a better era for USA tennis anytime in the near future. US tennis is still good...our juniors have performed with the best of them, we just don't have one super star play on the rise like a monfis (france) or murry (england), and roddick/blake/genepri and all the american men and women do not count as superstars.

I would have to say yes. I was looking at some chart the other day and most people who play tennis in the world are from foreign countries. I don't even think that tennis in the US was one of the top countries.

In a way, yes. Although US still has high ranked players, their results in GS are generally poor over the last 2 years. I'd say if Williams Sisters and A-Rod regain their previous shapes, they'd still win a grand slams or two. But on men's side, as long as Fed or Rafa are playing, I don't see any male players can make a major breakthrough in the GS.

us tennis is no doubt not as good as it was when agassi, sampras was still playing at top form. things have changed now. our top players liek roddick and blake are doing good but are not doing enough to bring them to the top. other players like Ginepri and Dent are average. on the girls side, we have Davenport but she isn't doing so well cause of back injuries. i wouldn't really call it domination but yes, the US is definitly not as good as before.
