I have friends who go to garage sales every weekend and spend about $200, then they turn around and sell that stuff on ebay and take in an average of $1000-$1500 a week.

1st of all dont use ebay use cregslist it cheaper to sell and sell expensive things that you hardly care about and rare collecters itemsor whatever you dont want that you own
