Think Small
William (Bill) Bernbach (1911-1982) was a notable figure in the history of American advertising. He was one of the three founders of Doyle Dane Bernbach. It could be argued that Bernbach, with his devotion to creativity and offbeat themes, "invented" modern advertising. The ad campaign he directed for the Volkswagen Beetle, including the headline "Think Small", is widely regarded as one of the best ever in the history of advertising.

"Think Small"
However, it wasn't for the launch of the Beetle, as it was already around when the slogan was created. The vehicle itself was introduced after World War II, and the famous campaign you mention wasn't until the 60s. It was merely to rejuvinate popularity in the vehicle.
