You asked a wrong question - no one invented cell, because the cell was here even before the time. Basically, cells as they are nowadays, are a product of evolution.
But here's the story.
Back in 16th century, there was this guy, Leewenhoek (1632-1723), and he first saw some "chambers" in an onion, while looking thru microscope. He named those "little chambers" as cellulae which is a Latin word for cell.
Few years after that, in 1838. the scientist called Schleiden realises that plants are completely made of cells, and a year later, in 1839. Schwann also realises the same but in animals. And that's how the so called "cell theory" was born. They were the first to realise that the entire body (human/plant/animal structure) is made of cells, and that the organism is a structure of cells.
By the time, technology improved, and people began to discover all kinds and types of cells, or if you prefer, other parts of cells such are mythohondrias, ribosomes, lyzozomes...etc.

There is no scientifically standard model of the origin of life, and thus cells. However, most currently accepted theories are that pre-biotic conditions on primitive earth result in the creation of certain basic small molecules (monomers), such as amino acids. These monomers are the building blocks of today's life. In the Urey-Miller experiment it was proven that amino acids and nucleotides could of been made in a abioic environment given the suspected conditions on primitive Earth.
With the spontaneous creation of phosphates, lipid bi-layers naturally form. These lipid bi-layers are the precursors of the basic components of a cell membrane.
The polymerization of nucleotides into random RNA molecules might have resulted in self-replicating ribozymes. In all cells ribosomes have RNA which can catalyze itself. This proves that RNA was the primary hereditary molecule before DNA.
Through evolution ancestors of prokaryotic cells developed. DNA was favored over RNA because it is chemically a more stable molecule because of the describes sugar it contains.
These early prokaryotic cells eventually evolved in eukaryote cells with membrane bound organelles. Mitochondria are thought to have arisen through a symbiotic relationship between a aerobic prokaryote being engulfed by a early eukaryote. The basis of this theory arises from the fact that mitochondria contain their own separate DNA in a form similar to a prokaryotic chromosome.
Once eukaryote cells became common they evolved to form multicellular organisms. Each cell had the ability to become differentiated towards a particular task, ie become a liver cell or brain cell. At this point the rest is just further evolution of mammals to humans.

Ä°nvention would mean deliberate act of creation by a being with reason. All cells, all living structures, including humans, came to be as a result of evolution, which has no will, and acts on the basis of natural selection. Therefore, this process has nothing to do with 'invention'.
