Drill out the back of the exhaust, and it should all oull out as an assembly. then you should cut one or tow baffles to put back in, tack weld them in place, and you're done.

Before you debaffle your pipes, consider just drilling a couple holes in your end plates. This allows you to start small, then work your way louder. As some have said- beware taking away all your backpressure- some bikes don't like that at all. Others have been debaffled and the mickeys ripped out, and they have run like tops. Overall- try finding people that have sv650's and ask them and.....
save your pennies for pipes.

Don't ruin your 650. These things are engineered like watches. They have close tolerances. They are designed so all the systems work together. If you ease the exhaust pressure, you increase the exhaust flow. Increased exhaust flow means hotter exhaust gasses. Hotter exhaust gasses mean fried exhaust valves.
I wouldn't worry about your crank, but you will certainly be needed a new top end in a very short while. Say $600?
Plus, no one is going to think you are "cool" riding a defective 650. If you want to ride a bike with a defective exhaust, get a Harley.

Don't mess with the muffler, you'll only ruin the bike. If you want to sound louder, get new pipes put on, try Cobra cross-cut pipes. We have them on our Vulcan 900 Classic and it sounds really, really nice. It's only .2 over the legal noise limit so we just barely pass inspection.
I don't know where you live, but you may be breaking the law if you change/alter your pipes. Check with the local dealerships first.

you would be breaking the law. a baffle is put in the muffler to deaden the sound.you can change your exhuast system but i wouldnt enjoy getting a ticket for a noise violation.

you take a long flathead screw driver and side it in the end of the pipe until it stops. then tap the end of the screw driver. once the screw driver has pushed throw the baffile then you twist the screw driver to one side and pull it out. some bikes need to be re jetted. but i had a 96 VLX and road it for 7 years and never had a problem with it and i did not re jet it.

take out the baffle and you will lose power. trust me , new bikes use back pressure to increase horsepower. you need a different pipe.
