People who wear clothes that do not fit properly.....camel toe, muffin tops, coin slots, are all bad examples of it.
I also have a problem with people who wear ripped, and stained clothes.

As a fashion designer, I’ve seen plenty of “fads” being passed off as true “fashion.” The one thing I can point to that irks me the most is seeing women dress-up jeans. What I mean by that is the current trend for women to wear jeans and try to make them look glamorous by donning on heels and fancy tops and way-too-fancy jewelry. This is so gauche! It’s as if women haven’t ever seen the horrid styles of streetwalkers or of the horrendous fashions worn back in the 80’s by the likes of Lauper and Madonna.
Don’t get me wrong. I wear jeans occasionally, but I’m much more into elegance and style than into fads and trends. However, I never try to make my jeans something they’re not. If I want to wear heels, fancy jewelry and pretty blouses, I’ll don on slacks or a nice skirt, but I don’t create an unharmonious look (that’s what those in the interior-design business, to which I also belong, call a room where you’ve got truly expensive furniture and accessories, but delegate $1 flimsy curtains to the windows, instead of something equally-expensive) by pairing up something fancy with an article created specifically for leisure time.
The other fashion trend I despise is wearing or buying something solely because someone in Hollywood wore it. If you genuinely like it, fine, but don’t go out and buy high-heeled construction-like boots just because J-Lo wore them on one of her videos. Be your own person! Especially since the majority Hollywood don’t look good when they haven’t been to their stylist.

Bright orange spandex pants and army boots and a knitted sweater. I guess thats not really a faux pas, its a disaster, the most common faux pas I see is underwear lines, also socks with sandles, I hate that, its a huge pet peeve of mine!

Back in the 1970's the days of polyester knits....the fashions were not of my liking but that was all there was to select from. Plus the hair don't get me started....that was another issue...Long was IN..and not very well styled...you can say WINGS for ladies and the men's hair style was long NERDY....that period of time was really different from any fashion statement I'd ever seen. The men wore polyester leisure suits BIG PLAID OUCH....you had to be there to see it. I hope who ever set that fashion trend is long gone...can't take it again...thanks for asking it sure was fun going back in time....

Neon.
Sweatpants with tight elastic bottoms.
short-overalls
ducky boots
slouch socks
body-shirts (I forget what they were called...they had buttons on the bottom and kind of wrapped around your torso like a swimsuit?)
acid washed denim
The list could continue.

I'm REALLY not feeling the whole tuck your pants into your boots thing. Unless you're a fisherman or lumberjack, then its ok.
