George Lazenby was the first person to replace Sean Conenry as Bond. When he was gone he had no idea audiences didn't warm up to him. It was a rude awakening that the world begged Connery to come back.
Also shows what stones Roger Moore had to take over from Connery.
For the record, I thought Lazenby was a great Bond, just did it at the wrong time is all.
