Well, I think the most important piece of information you're leaving off is: do you actually have a DVD burner on your computer? If not, DVD's won't record.

In response to your additional details, I would say check the software you're using...more specifically, the settings. There might be something you have to check or uncheck in order to record onto DVD-R as opposed to CD-R. What software are you using?

Appears U have some confusion ... apparently

CD & DVD are two different media altogether
CD - compact disk, normally holds 700 MB of data
DVD - digital versatile disk, normally holds 4.7 GB of data or 9 GB dual layer

Check if u'r writer is DVD writer or can only write CD's

I would use data cd's. If you have a lot of music videos, then I suggest DVD's

Use the Audio/Data ones it's easier and cheaper. If you use the DVD-R's then once you download them to your hard drive you have to re-format them depending on your computer it could take a LIL while.
