In fact any white man feels vulnerable lest he be mistaken for an American cow boy!!

It is the moderates and the saner elements of the East that you have struck... they have nothing to tell their people. While the violent ones have evidence on their side... Try to look at the war from the point of view of Non Americans and you will see that the picture is very very grim.

Drop a bomb on a young man's house and when he has returned home from work to find his sister, brother, nephew, aunt, uncle, child or his wife crushed in the ruble you have done one of two things - broken the man or created a "terrorist".
Two questions for you:

How many bombs has the US dropped in the middle east?

What effect would such an unjust act have on you?

Edit: to C Bass below. To answer your question about what we did to Iran to inspire hate. Perhaps you should read your history. Propping the despot shah for many years while he terrorized and robbed his people should be enough. How about inspiring a war between Iraq and Iran and then in the midst supplying BOTH sides with weapons (many of the same that are now blowing up our own in the form of IEDs). Tens of thousands of Iranians were killed in that war and yet in American school books barely a mention of the war or the cause is listed.

Sometimes you have to look deeper then what they tell you.

The war was on before the U.S.A. was ever woken up to it on 911. My family left Islam because we were losing friends and associates to assassination. Country after country has fallen to Islam and continue to do so. The U.S.A. gets attacked and everyone acts like it's a new thing for the world.

Do some research.
All those "terrorists" were the people cheering in the streets when the Twin Towers fell. They had no target save the distant U.S.A., but their side was clear.

We gave them a target, pulled them into the open, and mowed them down. Still are.
Islam will never recover from this unless the moderates who DON'T believe in the literal interpretation of the Koran take over and no longer have to fear assassination and torture for even questioning the "party line".

Or, we could have waited until the other side was stronger before doing something about it. Why not wait until we were attacked three times? Or ten! Ooops, we have been! We haven't really been keeping good track, have we. Our battleships, our embassies, are bases are attacked and you want to "turn the other cheek?"
You think they're going to like you if you leave them alone to 1) convert everyone, 2) kill them, 3) tax them into oblivion (the three choices for those not of Islam within an Islamic country)?

That's silly.

steven n,
The "cloud" appears to be hovering in your argument.

A properly labeled "terrorist" will tell you that his/her mission is to succeed at any cost, even if that cost means to blow up innocent civilians. Terrorists know that their tactics must be unconventional. They can't play by any rules or honor code, for fear of being annihilated. As a result, many casualties are civilian when terrorism is involved. In contrast, militaries take every measure they can to minimize civilian casualties, and do abide by rules of engagement.

Even when they're not, you will see them violate every rule of engagement and human right by mutilating prisoners, hacking them to death, and disrespecting their remains. Their goal is to incite terror. Terror is not synonymous with killing someone. Instead, it is a description regarding how and why you do it.

If you believe that a "soldier" in an army isn't any different and kills in a fashion full of terror, then you'll believe anything you read. That is your opinion. However, you are making the same kind of analogy that young children mistakenly do at times. The accusation doesn't hold a candle to the truth.

jhun,
The whole 3rd-world? That's a lot of countries (not just the Middle East).

Yes, some people in every country are losing respect. Unfortunately, many more are losing reasons to be against the West. History has shown the modern mindset of the U.S. - we're not out to conquer (look at Japan, Germany, Cuba, Russia, etc). Nations understand that our intention is to improve stability. Some may disagree with the path we take, but that's what a free society and free world does. It has its disagreements and stalemates. That doesn't mean a particular viewpoint is necessarily wrong.

I think it has just brought them out of the woodwork. some nations impose hating America as policy. So of course you are going to have people that would die( under the false promise's of paradise[plastic key around the necks of children to unlock there paradise] by there govt. and spiritual leaders) for there beleifs. The war in Iraq is leading the fight between America and terrorism to Iraq. All of the car bombs, beheadings and savage terror is happening in Iraq instead of in Chicago or any other city in America. What the people of Iraq get out of it is a free nation after a long and herd struggle against the insurgency. In the future people will look back at this as the turning point in the middle east when the people became free. The people of the middle east deserve there rights and freedoms as any nation on this planet does wether it be in Europe or America

Martin b,
Pick up a newspaper. Watch the news. Terrorists mutilated two soldiers (gouging eyes, injuring/removing other body parts), then they scattered their body parts and rigged them with explosives.

And you want to lecture about dropping bombs?

The loss of innocent life is something every military plan attempts to avoid, but it does happen. How can you, sir, say that what terrorists have done and continue to do is a result of our actions? Do you really think that terrorists are born out of hatred or revenge, and aren't religiously fanatic?

I think you need to study Iran (not Iraq) and what's happened there since WWII. They have a national prayer each week that chants hatred of America. What did we physically do to them? Nothing. Fact is that radical religious idols feel threatened by Western influence. The idea of losing power to the people is something they will fight for at any cost.

If you knew a thing or two about its history, you might be able to contend with a well-rounded argument.

well the term terrorist is really meaninless as it can be applied to any soldier fighting a war. For examaple name one thing that a soldier has not done that a terrorist has. It is all propagander to put a cloud over the eyes of the american people to think that there leaders are doing good and the enemy is evil or some thing.

short answer Yes

Complete ignorance of the Art of War by our current non-combat savvy government, has led us into a box Canyon. Having done this through their "God will lead us to Victory" mentality, they now attack proven Patriotic warriors like John Mercer and John Kerry (as well as conservative millitary men) and ask them why they don't have a plan to win. IT IS A BAD PLAN TO RIDE INTO A BOX CANYON!

When your in a Box Canyon, surrounded by the enemy, there is no way out. You suffer like America is now ..... forever!

They are following the same plan that lost America for England
.
If you don't control the neighborhood, you can't win.
We found this out in Viet Nam.

They must now prop up some despot like the Shaw of Iran or another Sadaam, make him look like a Democracy lover and he will control Iraq with an Iron hand. Other Presidents knew this and even Bush's father knew this and didn't knowingly stick our soldiers into a hornets nest.

All this Christian right wing retoric from the President and the right wing "Military Stupids" only cements our troops fate. Could you put Israel into South Carolina,Texas or the Bible belt forcibly?...I think not. Bush has made this a religious war (Al Quada has happly accepted...Bush is their lead recruiter)
, which will cost many of our best.young men their lives. He's a confirmed MENTAL AND MILITARY MORON. He has increased the enemy a thousand fold. Like the other
Crusades Christians will lose this one as well. We could have made Al Quida smaller, with Police actions like Kerry said. And friends to help us root them out. We had it all, friends who would have helped, public destain for the enemy almost everywhere which would have converted into on the ground intelligence. He single handedly BLEW IT. Now the neighborhood belongs to the enemy. Talking the talk is not walking the walk. It is good and proper to hate people who don't know how to fight, who pretend to it and lead our best blood into never ending occupations.

Art of War:

Never fight a war that you have not already won.
Control the ground you fight on.
Never leave Troops in Hostile territory. Pull back to safe secured area's and fight from there.
GROW UP RIGHT WING FASCISTS, STUPIDITY LOSES WARS
NOT WINS THEM.
It's O.K. with me if you lie constantly about the Bible and about
Jesus, but, when you try to tell me that you know what is Sin and
God needs your help to stop others from sinning.... you've gone
completely out of God's light and into the fire. You want moderate Islamics to not listen to Radical Fundamentalists, but you yourselves represent Radical Fundamentalist Christianity...
that by the way had no problem torturing and beheading people
for 500 years of the Inquisition. Never Again. If there is a Civil
War over it you will lose again, because, you don't have the
mental qualifications to be successful warriors.
Ther is no cure for stupid, start listening to others wiser than yourselves if you truly want to be saved.

P.S. The other Right Wing Bull is that we are fighting over there so we don't have to fight here! What utter inconceivable non sence. Were not fighting Ben Laden and the Saudi backed fundementalists that hit us in 911, they were in Afganistan!
Now there in Pakistan and go back and forth like they always did
They beat the Russians the same exact way. They outlasted them. Two teenagers could do more damage in the U.S. than
Ben Laden has. If his stated goal was to "disrupt the American financial centers" then his victory was right in frount of him. If he
attacked with one of the ten thousand cells we were told he had here, then a steady stream of suicide bombers in New York and
Washington would have done the trick. We didn't even have an
office of Homeland Security for six months. They weren't up and
running for still another six months. And they still suck now. He obviously didn't want the Victory he claimed he did. IT STINKS TO HIGH HEAVEN.
We'll probably get hit again just befor the election. Just enough to help the War mongers continue on their quest for profit.

The terorrist organization known as al-Queda is the organization known to have perpetrated the attacks on 9/11, this organisation before the war in Iraq did not have any significant tie to the regime of Iraq, the regime supprted suicide bombers striking Israel but did not support terorrist activity against the west, and al- queda related groups actually tried to asassinate Saddam during his rule, because he killed many muslims, also Saddam shunned any sort of religous fanaticism because it was a direct threat to his rule and therefore did not allow religous assembly and celebrations except occasionally for media exposure, now that our government has ousted the government based on wmd's that were not found and links to 9-11 that did'nt exist, and that the borders are open, Al Queda elements from Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan and others are rushing across to fight in a "jihad" against our soldiers, now the fact that Iraq has no substantial link to Islamic fundamentalism is well known outside of America, and it is also pretty well known that Iraq had nowhere near the "reconstituted" wmd program that our current administration claimed existed before the war, now to people outside the U.S.and, to fundamental Islamics in between just hating America and actually taking a militant role, it seems as if the U.S. really is as evil as they are taught in their schools, because the Invasion of Iraq seems extremely unjust to them, so therefore you have that section of militants that is created, also you have increased funding from terror supporters, that are convinced the attack is also unjust, also you have the amount of al queda manpower that is acquired in Iraq due to anger of the occupation from mistreatment, and gossip of abuses, also you have the shia sunni conflict, which al queda is delighted to have it's hands in due to the continued disruption on normal infrastructure, and rebuilding, our armed forces do get some good kills every now and then but compared to al queda's ability to draw sympathizers in from the whole region as well as the country itself, it is probably not the case that we kill more there than are created, and we must also realize that al- queda has cells in probably 75 percent of the globe even in the U.S. and Europe, just because the organisation has not been able to strike does not mean they do not have some sort of asset in the U.S. or Europe waiting for the right moment, lets hope not, but just because we kill a few over there does'nt mean they're just gonna throw their hands up and just forget about attacking America, supporters of this war say "If we fight 'em over there, we won't have to fight em' over here" well, unfortunately it's not that simple, but hey it has a nice ring to it, and people find it easy to believe. Well anyway war in Iraq, probably gonna be of minmal importance in the war on terrorism for good ol' US of A but at least the Iraqi's get to vote in about 5 years
