In London, you can see many of the famous buildings (Big Ben, etc) for free. The parade before the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace is free and a good show. You really can't see the changing of the guard itself very well as that occurs far behind the fence, which will be very crowded with tourists.

The changing of the guard in Copenhagen is very accessible. You can stand within 10 feet and get great photos. The crown jewels there also are easier to view (and for longer with less crowd) than in London. Go to Tivoli Garden one evening. You'll have to pay to get it, so plan on staying a long time when you go. There's a free show on stage there (Hans Christian Andersen or such) and fireworks.

In Paris, you can see many famous places by walking. It's not that far down the Champs from the Louvre to the Arch d'Triomphe. Walk it. The Eiffel Tower is across the river and worth the wait to go to the top and view the city, weather permitting. Eat in a French cafe and watch the people.

Rent a bike in The Netherlands. It's quite flat. The windmills and fields of flowers make for unique landscape. The museums are great in Amsterdam; take a canal boat ride there. Visit the Delft pottery factory to see how it's made. If it's spring, go to Keukenhof for the miles of tulips and other bulb plants on display.

Germany - must see Berlin and Dresden. See the Disney-style castle at Neuschwanstein. Visit the walled city of Rothenburg. Take a cruise on the Rhine River from Ruedesheim to Koblenz to see the castles and vinyards. Stop in the villages along the way and make a whole day of it.

In Austria, visit Salzburg (Mozart and the "sound of music") and Vienna. Eat a real weinerschnitzel (made of veal - Weiner means "Vienna-style"). Take in a concert at Schonbrunn Palace. Between them are some wonderful mountain lake towns.

In Switzerland, spend as much time as possible outside. It's the cleanest country in the world. Visit a cheese-making farm (Guyere is a good choice). Eat fondue.

Visit Rome. Spend one day on the Vatican and another across the river in the Roman ruins. Take the subway to the Fountain stop and follow signs to the Spanish Steps - that'll bring you to them from the top. If you take the subway to the Spagna stop, you'll be at the bottom of the steps. Bring good shoes.

Spend a few hours in Pisa, then take the train to Florence to see David and shop. Find a street vendor with pizza at 5pm, so you don't starve before the restaurants open later that night.

I would definately hit Rome, Paris, Vienna, Prague, and Barcelona. Each have awesome night life and are beautiful cities. If you get you Eurail pass they will be easy to hit if you plan you trip outright. Paris is a must for its great food, fun clubs and culture, Vienna is similar but smaller and easier to get around in. Rome is HUGE, but if you do a lil research there is infinate things to do there. Prague i especially think is worth it if you like clubbing and partying, the Czechs know how to get down. Finally Barcelona is simply beautiful and has great beaches, weather should be great there that time of year, nice place to start or finish a wonderful trip. One more place i would reccomend to you is Salzburg Austria because i used to live there, its a not a huge city but is one of the most beautiful in europe, has great places to eat and party, and some cool cultural sites.

Get a 30 day Euro-rail pass and go backpacking across Europe. Check out London -Paris, then check out cities like Amsterdam, Brussels, Barcelona, Madrid, Zurich, Geneva, Copenhagen, and Stockholm. I've been to most of these cities and they are beautiful.

Are you sure that you 'll be able to visit all these fantastic places in 30 days? I think that you only need 30 days to visit just London or Paris, and not to mention all these other cities...
