Yahoo! for the content

Google for the search

----- Verdict: Tie -----

I realize your question asked about best "search" engine, but the reason it's a tie is because there's not a huge difference in the results you get. If I do the same search on either, the first 15-20 results of a broad search looks almost the same.

Because of that, Yahoo! actually has the edge because of its content...

----- Dogpile -----

Although it fetches results from multiple search engines like Yahoo! and Google, I find the results hard to look at. You can't hover over the links to see what they are, and many times the URL is not showing. It's a pain in the rear to right-click and go to properties when you are sifting through hundreds of results. Showing the URL is important for saving time, since it helps you identify relevant hits.

Dogpile since it combines all of the engines. Have to mention also Bllingo 'cause I won some ipod songs. And also Fireball is great for international searches.

Google, always gives me what I'm looking for, and if I can't find something on another search engine (every once in a while I try) I can still find it on Google. Google also has the largest index of pages compared to the rest. And their other services are cool (like gmail)

I use both yahoo and google when researching information for my homework... yahoo provides more features though. Although I'm now using Yahoo's email, I also have a gmail account, which seems to have more function.

GOOGLE. I guess they all pull up almost the same webpages. But I am always a big fan of google. The founders are just college grads and did wonders. I always support them.
