Is performing semi naked on a mirrored crucifix still brave ? Wouldn't doing the same on a mirrored crescent moon "push people buttons " ( as she puts it ) more effectively ?

Hehe." No attention if she had sat naked on a crescent moon." Yeah, right. Those Islamic fundamentalists are such easy going guys....

Good idea...

That lot deserve it for not being nice like hippies and wickens... I would not attack them as they aint hurt anyone unlike the christians and islamics.

Better stuill do a stone Allah and Mohummed video and chop of their limbs, and force them to have sex with someone they don't want to be with in the name of family honour... Then do a burn god at the stake vid

Well she is still getting everyone talking about her isn't she? She is a performer, has always been known for her ability to shock and she is not going to stop....as long as people attend her concerts, and buy her cd's, she will keep performing. I wonder how many people here have actually seen her in concert.........age is something you do not notice when you have a totally professional performer with a huge show.......personality, the quality of the music and dance and the ability to carry it off without a hitch are what you notice. That's why people such as the Stones, Eric Clapton, Tina Turner, Cher etc. can still sell our concerts faster than most of the younger bands. Age is a just a number...although when you are young, that is not the case....age is age. she is still going and going well, leave her to it...if you don't like it, don't watch her, there are plenty of people who will.......
p.s I am not actually a Madonna fan but I do admire her, she does exactly what she wants to do and surely that can't be wrong.

I reckon she's a pretty shrewd woman. Don't think it's about bravery, but performing semi-naked on a crucifix has got your attention hasn't it!? So she's succeeded in keeping people interested, regardless of whether it's positive or negative feedback. Doubt that would've happened if she'd been sat on a crescent moon.

I haven't always liked her music, reckon her best stuff was from the "Ray of Light" album onwards. But mostly I just think she's good at reinventing herself and certainly keeps herself looking good to sell the package. More power to her, I say.

People are still talking about Madonna... this question is evidence of that itself. She's still relevant as a musician, and while some of the things she does now (your cross example) seem like no big deal these days... let's not forget that she is a very real part of the reason for that, having paved the way for many others with her bold performances and videos.

I think that as long as she is making good music, Madonna will never be "passed it"
She has always liked to rock the boat, and be controversial, but isn't that part of what has made her the international icon that she is today ?
She still has the body of a young woman, and the fitness level to keep up with people half her age, she should be commended for this, not *crucified* (boom boom)

I think if her song implied women are things, they would let her get away with it.
If she does it naked and with a black guy raping her they won't say anything, but if she puts clothes on they'll be suing her for being a heretic.
It's sad to see that female celebrities can't put something on to cover their boobs without worrying that someone might shoot them dead.
And if her video is on Adult channels, parents and church people will be whining about her corrupting young minds and making "explicit sexual-oriented suggestions" by being naked and raped.
I would love to see her performing with something on. But that's obviously illegal.
TV system. Gotta love it, uh?

personally if i had a body like madonna at her age then yes i would want to show it off, however i think her latest music and videos are a bit degrading for her, as she is known as a legend but she is degrading herself by acting as if she is 20 again, the standard of her music and videos has droppped dramitcally, and i no longer listen to it, i reckon she should step down and let others lead the way and release more appropiate music.

Watching Madonna gyrate with boys young enough to be grandsons is gross, gross, gross. It's like watching your granny try to dance at the club. It's something you don't want to see and so very, very wrong.

Also, she's spent so much time in England now that she's trying to become like Kylie, except Madonna has a saggy booty and can't pull it off anymore. She should hang it up and be a full-time mom to her kids.

I think Madonna is musically educated from any other female artists who are singing these days!

I am not her fan, but music she chooses is real quality. Listen to her 2nd album you can hear lots of good guitar and drumming. When she did electronic type track after, keyboard and synth sounds were real good too!

She still sounds great but she is beginning to look "a bit worn around the edges!" so if I were her, I'd bow out gracefully instead of being a really sad 'has been' before too long
