Why is it called disk crash?

When the data stored in your harddisk is more than limit, the hard disk crashes. eg, If capacity of disk is 3 you install win X which reqiures 4 GB say, it will crash.

Some time due to Virus Attackes hard Disks Crash.

and sometimes due to More and More bad sectors too....

or if you take out ur Hard disk and dont handle it carefully then ur disk will really CRASH into two or more peices.,

I m know everything as mine had not crashed till now, i didnt handled any such case.

It's when your disk crashes. Thats exactly why it's called a disk crash.

think of a hard drive as being like a record player, if the needle is bumped, the record can get scratched.
