If the computer is under warranty,I would contact the company that made it.If warranty is out and this is a problem that has just recently occured then I would either take it to a computer technician or If you know anything about going inside one,I would say your power supply is on the blink and needs to be replace. If the heat is coming from the general area of the power supply,I would most deffinatly say this is the problem.

Good luck with that computer

Is the fan moving any air though the computer? Is the fan running? That much heat is abnormal, I would consider backing up all the stuff on your hard drive. Hard drives generate a lot of heat, but this ones headed for a "meltdown". You may need a new hard drive for this computer. The bearings on your hard drive may be seizing up soon. Have you opened the case and blown it out? Dust will adhere to a lot of other components. Make sure the exhaust duct is clear and fully open.

my last laptop did that......all the time it eventually stop working and then the company fixed...it wasn't that the fans were dirty or because of excess files... it and then it was good for a year still heated up a little....... and then started acting up....... it still works but i gave it 2 my kid sister and bought a new one :) ....... CD drives in use tend to take the temp of the laptop up as well from what i've noticed

don't leave your laptop on all the time and let the battery run out every once in a whille and try not to leave it pluged in all the time

set it up on two hockey pucks. It will give it extra air and help a lot. When i play games, my comp will overheat and shutdown if I don't do that.
