Landlord lives up the street, always calling and talking about trash in back yard which they can't see unless they walk behind house or come to the house and walk into the back yard. Calls and complains about car port being to messy and they can't even see it from the road. Walks into back yard to pick a flower that she wants to plant in her garden without asking or calling. What are my rights on privacy. And how can I confront them. Calls trash company and asks if there is service at my address and then calls and harrasses us that we have to have trash service. We have explained that we take our trash to the dump on our own. Can she call the trash company? When working on neighbors house walks over and looks into cars and then goes and talks with neighbors.

under all states landlord laws, they have the right to come on their property if their is an emergency. tenants actually have more rights than landlords. the best thing to do is the next time the landlord comes to bother you and comes on your property to take something, call the police and file a complaint to trespass. even though they are landlords. the law and constitution states you have the right to privacy and be free from intrusions. to live in peace. to many tenants don't take the time to understand the laws and how much is in their favor. most landlords will get away with alot as they moght know some of the laws or don't care about them and think as long as the tenant doesn't know, they can do as they want to. most states have the local bar association which will help tenants with landlord problems to evictions for a small fee or for free. also file a complaint right after anything happens again with the police. they can take care of things in certain manners right away. sounds like your landlord might be a bit unstable. good luck.

Well I've never rented a home, but those actions sound extremely illegal. I've left a few websites about renter's rights that you might find helpful.

I found a couple articles on Landlord Harassment and it's extremely real and illegal. Review your lease to make sure there's nothing in there about what you've been experiencing and make a log of every event of harassment. If they go into the yard write the date and time and reason, if they call you, threaten you, look into your car, ANYTHING could be harassment if it's stopping you from living peacfully in your home. Take note of it all.

contact your local district or county attorney's office. it's free and they will tell you exactly what the laws state on renter's rights and responsibilities as well as privacy and harassment issues.
