Whether it hurts or not, there's risks associated with that and if you don't really want it, screw your friends. You know the whole jumping off of a bridge spiel. .
Plus, if you don't go about it the right way you could get infections (which if done really wrong are really bad since the bellybutton is the closest spot to your stomach) AND, if you decide to keep a bellybutton ring in, it'll end up like an earring where the hole is permanent. To me, belly button rings can be cute sometimes but when you don't have the choice to take it out without seeing a whole in your tummy, I say no.
Plus, you're only 15. Trust me, I've thought the question over many times in the past and I'm 18 now and still glad I didn't jump the gun.

If you want to get an idea of how it feels, try getting yours ears pierced first. The ear lobes are more meaty and yet they hurt a little bit. For some people it may hurt a lot. The belly button is a less fleshly area and will hurt more. Pain is relative to each person, so asking someone else may not help much. Make a list of pros and cons. when your able to go in one direction more them the other, you will be able make a decision.

The "wound" will probably become infected. Very, very common. Painful at times. Pus and fluid will become a belly concern. Kind of like the saying, "hey stop picking lint from your belly button and do something." I had one, kept it for about a year and a half. Never really healed. Now I have an ugly scar and tiny pit.
I tried phisoderm, alcohol, hp, and neosporin. Maybe bacitracin is the way to go.

Best to wait til you're a little older...and if you should decide to have it done --- make sure the shop has a reputation for doing good work and that they keep the equipment clean. Also you have to follow the instructions on how to keep your piercing clean and healthy. And yes there will be some uncomfort in having it done.

My both of my roommates got their belly button pierced and one soaked it with sea salt water and the other didn't. The one who didn't was miserable. As long as you are willing to put forth the effort to take care of it, I think you should get it if you want it.

it does hurt and belly piercings are some of the worst piercings when it comes to infections.
however, with proper care, and if you have a moderately high resistance to pain, a belly piercing is fine.as long as your parents agree

Personally, I think they dont look good at all. Its something useless people do. I actually think all peircings are useless except ears and nose are alright. But if you really want to, then you should get it done.

if you want one then get one, but if you're doing it to be an individual everyone has one, including me. for me, it was only slightly painful. if you do get it done make sure to take care of it, infections are nasty (my sis had one) and they hurt too. and follow the directions of the piercer.
