Okay, so if you have a straight in your hand, does that count as a straight or do you need a "community" card added to it for it to be considered a straight?

(I need the above question answered, but if you have the time, please answer this one.) If you have a straight flush or a royal flush consisting of only two cards, does that count? Or do you need three cards?

Thank you,
Rashanka

I think she meant her hand was suited, example: 10 Jack suited or 7, 8 suited and that three of the community cards gave her a straight flush or a royal flush. The two cards that are given to you at the start is just your hand. The only time you can actually win with just the two cards that you are dealt without the community cards are: when you have a pair of anything that beats everything else at the table OR if one or both of your cards is the high card OR if you bluff the bs out of the other players before the flop.

In Texas Hold 'em, you are only dealt 2 cards to begin with to use with the 5 community cards. It would be impossible to have a straight in your hand since it must be a combination of 5 cards, so yes you would need at least 3 community cards to make a straight.
