The oldest profession - any professionals who can tak about it?

I don't want to judge anyone harshly. After all, Rahab the harlot of Jericho is listed as an ancestor of Jesus Christ. Is it possible to do that then move on and live a "normal" life of mom, famly, wife, etc.? I know a lot of women in hsitory have had little choice. Just wondering what happens after that ... or while that is going on. Thanks for your thoughtful responses.
