If your computer has a card reader built in, then the adapter goes in the SD port.
If your computer dosen't have a built in card reader, then you need to buy an external USB card reader.

A mini SD is a mini Secure Digital card. They are typically used in cameras. You will need a adapter to "read" the card in your computer. They can be external or internal. Some of the internal readers are coupled with a floppy drive.

If the other laptop is on the same network as yours, you can always install software like RealVNC, LANVisor, or Dameware, so as long you keep them on view mode only, this is for immediate viewing. If you want to find out what all went on while on the PC you could install software like Big Brother. This software keeps track of up to the keystrokes as well as snapshots when certain events, words, etc. take place. You would need administrator access to the laptop to install this software. For retrieval you would need physical access to the laptop, or if in the same network the directory where the logs are kept, would need to be shared
