Yes, if your computer had a DVD drive in it, and if your computer is fairly new. It doesn't have to be really new, as long as it doesn't have some old 300 MHz processor in it. Even then it might work, but I don't think so. My comp runs DVDs fine with a 800 MHz processor in it, we also have 640 MB of memory, a bit of memory helps your comp with everything, including DVDs, but you probably don't need that much.

Your computer needs to be equipped with a DVD-compatible drive, and needs to have DVD player software. If it is a new system that was advertised to have this type of capability, you should be able to put a DVD in your drive and the computer will recognize and play it.
If you know that your drive is DVD-compatible and the disk does not start automatically, you may need to check that you have a DVD player software program in your programs list. My experience is that a number of DVDs today ship with a free DVD player on the disk itself, allowing you to play the movie even if you don't previously have software installed.

You can watch DVD movies if only the CD ROM, which is where you put the CD, says in the front DVD.... Also in order to play the DVD you might need a program. Most popular ones are WinDVD and PowerDvD

If your computer has a DVD-ROM drive in it.
If it does, pop in the DVD and if no program like PowerDVD or WinDVD loads the DVD, open Windows Media Player and it will play.
