How are you paying it now?? Is it being garnished or are you sending a check to the parent or state office? If you are sending to the parent yourself I would just stop sending it when the time is up, if you are going through a govt. agency I would call them and point out the pending time expiration. Keep a log/diary of every phone call to them; who/why/when. Take it from experience!!! You might have to keep on them. If you overpay, you should get a refund, but you'll have to get after them about that too.
Good luck! And congratulations! What are you going to do with that extra money each month?

You stop paying the other parent but if the child is still living at home and going to school then your moral financial commitment to the child should continue and you should continue to support the spouse who has the child and at least half of the child's education costs depending on how much you make. The kid will feel abandoned if you drop them the minute a court tells you that you can.

In some states the law states that you are to pay support until the child grads. from high school some college. If or if you don't live in one of those states you should get a lawyer find out what the limit is and go from there. That way you are not giving your ex money for her life style, but you should always be there for your children financially and morally and mentally.

Child Support Enforcment will know when the child turns 18 or finishes college whichever your divorce decree states... However i would call them at the time and let them know and if you happen to be behind on child support you will still have to pay untill you are paid up

most states require you to pay support until the child is 18 if age. some 21 if the child goes to college but that is written in the court order. if yours is under court order from the begining and the child turns legal age of 18. you go back to court to have the order dropped and the case itself would be dropped. an amended order would be filed by you or your attorney. check your local law library. good luck.

when the kid is 18 and u have kept the payments up then u have to talk to the courts. if u were behind in child support and still owe then times not up. time limit has nothing to do with it. it has to do with if u r or where behind in payments. my mother-in-law gets child support payments still and her oldest is in his 30. that's bc his father was behind in the payments. so u see time has nothing to do with it.

You should support your kids forever. It is your fault they are in the world cuz you couldn't control your hormones. I hate deadbeat man-sluts.
