On my 3rd grade recess, we (buncha boys cuz girls were yukky then),would go straight to a large swing-set .It was cemented into the ground ,and held 6 swings . the swing-set had to be 15ft high.We would swing the entire time trying to get speed & altitude. We actually used to get the seat of the swing up over the horizontal bar of the swingset.Sometimes the chains would buckle from going so high. The girls used to sit in the swing and twirl the chains tight till it raised them up 5-6 ft, then the other let them go.A quik way to get dizzy. lol
After I graduated HS I went into the service.Since I had no idea where or what I'd be doing I went for 1 last swing. The grade school had closed down, but the swings were still there.

When I got dragged around the playground by one leg across rocks and racked buy the fire hydrant, being called girly, because my name was Jamie, and no one from there had ever heard of a guy named Jamie. then getting chased to get beat up for 20 minutes straight right after that by some completely different kids.
I loved it.
That was 5th grade. By the time 7th grade rolled around, those people were running from me. Payback's a *****.

A 3rd grade fight against another playground gang with my gang, the deadly demons. Which may not sound funny except for 2 things...1. We were all middle-class "preppy" type guys 2. Our fight strategy was to have a guy in our gang, the biggest guy in the school, push every one down, sit on them and make them cry, while the rest of us laughed. But don't worry, we weren't bullies. We only "handled our business" (lol) if provoked.

One day, this kid named Mike just started footsweeping me and knocking me to the ground (he had just learned how to do this in Karate class).
He must have footswept me eight or nine times, but each time he knocked me down I got right back up. I was crying and stuff because I was a kid, but I would not stay down. He finally got tired of tripping me and said, "okay, that's enough." Later, we became good friends. It wasn't until I was older that I realized I had earned his respect because I would not stay down. That was a life lesson that followed me from the playground at recess all the way up to this very minute.

I never had friends in Elementary school, so I was playing on the "black top" as we called it back in the day, when I tripped and fell on my face. A kid walking by came over and helped me up and walked me to the nurse. I had never had a friend so the fact that someone cared enough about me to help me up and walk with me to the nurse felt nice. We were friends until 5th grade, when I moved a few towns over and we lost contact.

I licked a frozen metal teather ball pole and my tongue got stuck to it. I lived in cleveland ohio and that is the coldist place in the world. I also remember one time where a horse from the farm next door jumped the fence and reared up in front of one of the first graders.

I love tetherball. It is so fun. The swings are also fun. But I didnt really like recesses. They are always so boring. Four square got old though.

I started this club in first grade. I wrote down everyones names who were in it, the names were all girls cause I didn't like boys back then. When this boy named Codi said that there was a group of boys that went around beating up girls in clubs. He said he saw one of the girls with her eye ball hanging out of her socket, so I threw the names away. Then in third grade (I had a crush on him then) the same boy told me he was a phsycic, so I asked him who I was going to marry, but he said he could only see to college. Then I asked him when I was going to die and he said, when you break your neck.
