That is so sweet that you are concerned for her safety. This is vital because both of my great-grandmas, when they fell, they went downhill & died within a year. I'm glad you are concerned.

I have an 83 year old Granny too, that's crazy, she's fallen like 3 times in the last year or two. She has a walker but hardly ever uses it. If your granny does have or is going to get a walker or cane, make sure that she is properly trained on using them because if she is not she may have difficulties walking with it and make it even more dangerous to walk around. All physical therapists should be able to aid in this. Good luck, hope this helps!

clear all pathways, secure rugs, move furniture out of the way....keep a night light on at night.....make sure she goes to the bathroom before bed....and does she know how to properly use her walker? thats one of the things that are important to know...also exercise to increase/maintain her stamina so she will be able to walk for some distances GOOD LUCK!!!
