That is a pretty broad question. You should have a strong business model, a product or service that is needed in the marketplace, you should listen to your customers and serve their needs, hire good people and treat them well, stand for something.

Run your business with integrity and in an ethical manner. Keep costs in line with the competition or below. Be innovative.

what kind of business?? as answering ur q. without more info would be bad business to begin with. Eliminate the bad ones and good ones will be clear.

objectives and planning...you have to have excellent organizational skills or at least hire someone that does...without the proper pieces in place for a business you won't have a business. to make money, you have to spend money, wisely.
