you can try walmart they are always hiring, or your neighborhood grocery store. They like to hire young people to stock the shelves, bag groceries, and bring all the carts back into the store and out the lots.

At sixteen, I would recommend he work for a family member, someone that can introduce him into the work force and instill a pride and self worth in his experience. I believe that it might be hard for him to get a job with a major chain store without prior experience etc. Working for a family member or friend of the family can give him work experience and references so that when he is out of highschool, he will have two years at XXX company. If he loves computers then I would recommend him working at a Mom and Pop store. Bagging items at a supermarket is a good honest job...but not a career builder...give him a step up and get him thinking career. Computers, Programming, management etc...all good fields to know.

Most grocery stores will hire 15 year olds, but every state has different child labor laws. Best is to go to the store nearest home and inquire.
My nephew got a great job working for a veterinarian. He did that all during highschool, walking dogs, cleaning out cages, etc. He loved it and they loved him.

His best chance is either a small mom and pop business or a grocery. If they sell liquor or cigarettes he'll probably just get to work as a bagger because he can not "sell" those items for a few years yet. Have him check out the local restaurants, he could bus tables or do dishes. Hey, it's money coming in.

i know that in louisiana there are special laws about 15 yr olds working. they could only work specific hours (like til 9 at night on school nites) and no more than 20 per week. but most businesses don't want to deal with those specifications. the wendy's in my hometown hired 15 yr olds.

Forget any other answers - the best website for job searching is
http://www.craigslist.org/
You can job browse by city and then by category - and it's not like Monster - you have better chances of actually hearing back from somebody.
Source(s):
Also - Try http://www.snagajob.com/ - They have good jobs for teens and it tells you how old you need to be for the job - 16, 17, or 18
Like Home Depot and Chuck E Cheese

See your local juristiction's employment office.
You first have to have a workers permit in most states, if you're only 16 and want to work. It's
a liability thing and parents usually have to give their permission in writing.
