Earthquakes do indeed happen in Canada. The entire Pacific Rim is highly susceptible to earthquakes due to the techtonic plate movement around the edges of the rim. There are literally dozens of earthquakes everyday, but most are not felt. It appears that people are not sensitive to earthquakes under a magnitude of 2.5, so these are minor little quakes. And every so often we get a big one, that everyone notices.

They should; they have had them in Alaska.
Anywhere that there is a tectonic plate underground, which may become unstable, you
may have an earthquake. The earth is always changing, so one could happen anywhere. We have had minor ones in Baltimore and D.C., but
they have only been small ones, like a 1 on the
Richter Scale!
