IF IT'S THE TEMP SENDING UNIT (CHEAP)LOCATED ON THE FAN SHROUD HOUSING. JUST REPLACE IT. IF IT'S MORE PROBABLY $100.00 TO REDO THE WIRING. IF THE REPAIR IS EXTENSIVE, WELL, IT'S GONNA BE EXPENSIVE

Sounds like the fan motor went out.Easy to change cheap to buy.I had a 91 pontiac and the motor went out,I fixed it in the parking lot at the auto parts store. It would run you about $50 to $70 to get a new one.

is it electric fan? if so it could be off during the cycle that the coolent is below the set temp.(they cycle off and on as needed) The fan relay or fan fuse could be bad.possably the fan temp sensor is bad. (check fuse first)

if you have an electric fan then the sensor or fan may be bad,
if you have a fan driven off the drive belt the your fan clutch is bad.
